Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have developed a strong foundation in civil engineering principles and gained hands-on experience in areas such as designing concrete structures, analyzing water distribution systems, and utilizing industry-standard software.
In 2024, I worked with Strum Consulting in Saint John, NB as a Civil Engineer-In-Training. My work involved residential subdivision developments, highway and street design, stormwater system design, and drafting. You can find examples of my work with them in the Past Project Overview tab.

Civil Engineer-In-Training
As a recent graduate, I had the opportunity to join Strum Consulting's Civil Engineering team and contribute to their impressive portfolio of projects across Atlantic Canada. Leveraging my academic background, I honed my practical skills in various areas crucial to civil engineering. This included AutoCAD drafting, where I focused on subdivision design, plan and profile sheet setup, street grades (including alleys, curb & gutter), final design grades, and utility piping for water, wastewater, and storm sewers, along with construction details. In stormwater management, I actively learned Design Specifications & Supplementary Standard Specifications for Water, Wastewater & Stormwater Systems, particularly for Nova Scotia municipalities. Additionally, I developed expertise in land grading and site/construction inspections. My eagerness to learn and contribute to these diverse aspects of civil engineering fueled my excitement to be part of Strum's success.

Whether it's 2D or 3D drafting, I am confident in my ability to create precise and visually appealing drawings.
With my expertise in Civil3D software, I possess a strong skill set in lot grading, storm water management, detention system design, and road design. Using the software's advanced features, I can quickly create detailed grading plans and perform complex storm water analysis to manage runoff and erosion. I am also skilled in designing detention systems that meet project requirements and ensure compliance with local regulations. Additionally, I can accurately size pipes and create detailed pipe networks for water and sewage systems. Whether it's designing a small subdivision or a large commercial development, I have the proficiency to utilize Civil3D to produce precise designs and drafts.
Using HydroCAD on a daily basis, I have become highly proficient in utilizing its wide range of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling capabilities. I am skilled in setting up watershed parameters, designing storm water infrastructure, routing hydrographs, and leveraging HydroCAD's automated tools to optimize designs. My expertise includes creating detailed pond routing diagrams, sizing culverts, simulating underground detention systems, and calibrating models using real-world rainfall data. Proficient in S-Frame, I can efficiently design steel structures and conduct comprehensive structural analyses. With my advanced knowledge of the software's capabilities, I can quickly create detailed models and ensure compliance with design standards and regulations. Whether it's designing a new steel structure or analyzing an existing one, I have the expertise to utilize S-Frame to produce safe, reliable and visually appealing results.

Using the load computations from S-FRAME, this complementary software allows me to design efficient reinforced concrete elements.
As an experienced user of SAFE software for slab design, I possess the proficiency to efficiently create detailed 3D models, analyze structures, and design reinforced concrete slabs that meet design standards and regulations.
